Map of Key Terms

  1. After reading all three articles I believe that the authors can agree with me that the main basis of writing is education. Without being taught how to write and read there would be no writing, plain and simple. After that is when each author takes their own path. With Rose she talks about how the most important element of an image should be the genre it represents. That is where I branched off and said creativity and information because each are a separate genre and create a different audience which is what I connected next. Lundsford here talks about how there is a blurred line between the author and the audience due to the digital age, and I do agree with that hence why I drew a very rigid line between the two forms of genres and the audience. Finally last is emotions which I believe is connected to both creation and the audience. Without emotions creation doesn’t happen. Also the audience’s emotions on a topic will change how they view and read a work of art. One thing I would change after reading Shipka’s work is I would connect information and creation because she says that the connection of ideas and articulation leads to creativity. Overall I think that the five words I picked are shown in each of these authors composing processes and I would keep my map with very little changes.
