Journal Entry 3

The artifacts I chose are:
1. T-Shirt Design
2. Snapchat Geotag
3. Laptop Sticker

My key term is design so I wanted to choose artifacts that would properly showcase the creativity/art that comes to mind when thinking of design. My artifacts are more aesthetic than rhetorical but I do think that they can be rhetorical. A t-shirt design is something that is made more an audience. It is made so that when people view it they are in some way persuaded by it, whether it be to go buy the shirt themselves, join a club that the shirt is for, etc.

Some of the blogs I read I noticed did have a trend among their artifacts. I noticed one was about the different genres of Harry Potter, one being the books, then the movies, and also the theme parks. My artifacts do not seem to have a trend they are more randomly chosen rather than about one topic. When it comes to my key term there is a trend but not among the artifacts.

One thing that can be concluded about Edbauer's role of circulation is that as society and technology advances it will just become more prominent. Things are already being shared incredibly rapidly whether it be from yesterday or from 4 years ago. Memes make their way around the internet at an alarming rate which I find to be a perfect example of the role of circulation.

  1. Memes are examples of circulation between audience in composer, I didn't think of that!

  2. Hey Katie! I really like the creativity of your artifacts--specifically the geotag. I agree that a lot of people are taking this project in very different directions--some more thematic than others, but yours is very unique! I also like your meme circulation example. It is a great example to enhance someones understanding of circulation. Good job!!
