Writing is a way someone is able to express him or herself. Through the use of letters, symbols, and words, people all across the world can talk to others. Writing can be persuasive, information, or entertaining. Writing is a one of the largest ways of communication; although it has been modified as years go by. Writing has changed from ancient times on clay or leaves, to more modern- on paper, and even more modern through electronics. Writing is a way to express oneself; whether it be factual or opinions. Despite new technologies, we can still write on whatever medium we want, to communicate with others.
Communication- exchanging of words. Communication helps defining writing because writing is a very important aspect of communication; without writing, there would be a lot less communication.
Style- design or make in a particular form. What style an author writes in can convey different messages. The style of writing can drastically change the message to the audience.
Audience- assembled listeners. Every writing has an audience, and most of the time, the piece of writing is catered toward the audience.
Persuasion- the act of trying to get someone to believe something. Some pieces of writing are specifically meant to be persuasive and have an agenda, but I believe that even if the piece of writing isn't necessarily meant to persuade an idea, it still persuades for instance if it is fiction because the audience still has to believe the story.
Main Idea- most important thought about the topic. Every piece of writing has a main idea or a specific point that is trying to be made.
Language- spoken or written communication by humans. Writing is the communication of language. Writing can be in many different languages and use different words, but still people of every language can still write to communicate.
