I feel that writing is a way to communicate a message to an audience. I believe that writing is made up of several different parts. While doing this project, I realized that there are several important parts that go into successfully writing. Writers must take into account the audience whom they are writing to, they must choose a genre that would be the most beneficial to their audience. All of this determines the language that we use in our writing to send a message to our audience. I think that people write in order to teach their audience something, express themselves in a specific way, persuade their audience of something, or just to be creative. I think composition differs though because I feel like it is more focused on the rhetorical aspect of the communication taking place. From taking past advanced English classes, I have learned a lot about considering my audience, the genre of the text, the medium in which my message is being delivered, etc. I have gained a lot of knowledge from talking about the terms and creating physical things that relate to things I am interested in, such as social media. For my project, I focused on Kylie Jenner and discussed the term circulation. When you take a moment to investigate her life and what she does, the circulation is extremely present. It is a big part of her life because she is a member of multiple social media sites, she is always on E! Network with her family doing her everyday activities on their television show as well as promoting her own brands. When I think about writing, the words that come to mind are language, audience, delivery, medium, genre, arrangement, and communication.
