Journal 6

My first example of assemblage uses bare repetition, and I feel like at first sight an Audience member would not consider it to be an "assemblage". There's still a combination of art and repetition emphasizes the intended message. This assemblage has a different effect on the audience than my second example of an ethical assemblage. Although this assemblage portrays a repetition, it's still protected by fair use. In this case each "pig nose" is painted in a different way but from a far it looks practically the same. Circulation has a huge impact on assemblages because the way that one is circulated affects who sees it, the way it is interpreted, and even how many people come across it. For example, the assemblage Of Obama that we studied in class was more popular than a lot of assemblages out there and this is due to the way it was circulated.  My second example of an assemblage illustrates an ethical one. This image's intended purpose is to portray a mind with the use of various fonts , colors , and symbols. This assemblage definitely has a different affect towards the audience in comparison to my first example. This example also connects more to the audience given that it's illustrating a mind.
