From what I heard, most teams generally
followed the same process. We all began reaching out to an organization or
local business and communicated with a marketing head, team, or representative
through phone calls, social media, or email. My team never formally met with
Last Hope’s Social Media chair, Rebecca, in person but kept in constant communication
through email. Even today we are in communication through email as I tweak the
promo video to the organization’s requests. Other teams had to schedule a
meeting to discuss with a representative the organization’s needs and/or
preferences in the campaign. Kelsey, Louisa, and Carlo had a closer deadline
since they worked with the Black Student Union, who asked them to help
circulate the date of BSU Officer Elections which was well before P3’s
deadline. Completing the project well before the deadline allowed the group to
use a Qualtrics survey for measuring artifact reception and audience turn out.
Each group did a great job including
themes of their organization in their artifacts. The Quidditch group did a
wonderful job with the Twitter banner, assembling it out of images showing the
team in action divided by Potter-esque symbols. For example, the broomsticks
dividing the three pictures of the team. As far as the constraints groups
faced, one group dealt with their organization completely cutting off contact.
Another group had to earn the approval of their organization’s the official
marketing to get anything circulated; a process that made tweaking their
artifacts longer than usual. Additionally to those constraints, multiple groups
that designed posters or flyers had to decide how much money they were willing
to spend on printing however many color or black-and-white copies for physical circulation.
We would’ve tried to circulate the artifacts a little
earlier to get a better read on their success in spreading the Hope. After
watching the Autism’s Speaks video Alex Nightingale’s group made, I would’ve
liked to film a Last Hope Rescue event. Also, when the group that campaigned
for the library circulated the bookmark they composed during their presentation,
I thought about how my group could’ve created an artifact that related to our
organization’s focus: dogs. Without the constraints of limited resources, I
would’ve liked to design bone key chain with the LHR logo or perhaps a
stress-ball in the shape of a dog or bone with the LHR printed on it.
