Final Map

1. So I designed my map like a house. I believe that when we are composing, we have structure and ways in which our composing process flows and develops and so with that comes an organization. I see that central to my composing process is my audience. I have to start with who i'm creating my piece for, they are "inside the house"; my composition is for them...but how do I build the structure around this audience.
2. In order to show this arrangement, I worked with construction paper and markers because I felt that this would most adequately show my design and the fact that I wanted it to be very colorful. I also wanted it to be my handwriting. This makes my map more personal to me and allowed me to manipulate my designs and drawings the specific way that I wanted to. Some limitations that I felt were that I am not exactly the most creative or have the best drawing ability so that was a struggle for me when making this map. Like I said, however, some affordances include my desire for originality and color in my design and it was easier to manipulate than digitally.
3. Like I spoke a little bit about in question 1, I wanted my audience to understand the metaphor of composing like a house that compiles the elements that make composing both successful and circulated. From my map, it is meant for my audience to understand that the purpose of ones writing is the foundation of a project, this is what is holding ones composition together. The design and network you are working with puts the roof over the element of composition and the environment in which you are working in or speaking to, along with the way in which it circulates, will get the information successfully to your audience. This is how I hope for my map to be interpreted and underwood.
4. I will most likely post a picture of my map on the page of "about me" or along with my "marketing strategies" because this proves how my mind works and shows critical thinking and exposure.
