Journal 8

After watching all of the presentations, I think all of the projects were focused on the audience and circulation. It was really cool to see everyone’s different methods on how to get their campaign to circulate. Each presentation was focused to its own particular audience and the texts that they created were based off of that targeted audience. A lot of groups made different social media sites or advertisements for those social media sites because we are all aware of how relevant social media is in today’s society. I thought all of these ideas were very smart. Altough a majority of us did similar texts, they were all unique in their own way which I thought was really interesting to see. It was also cool to see how each group tied in the theme of their business or organization. I think the main constraint for a lot of the groups was a lack of communication with the owners of the organizations. I know for my group, we couldn’t post one of our artifacts to their Facebook page because they didn’t reply before we presented to give us permission. So for that artifact, we weren’t able to tell if it was successfully circulated or not or if they even approved of it. This lack of communication made it difficult for us and other groups, but I think everyone mainly focused on all of the other key terms as a way to stay on track and make sure these campaigns would be beneficial to the organizations. But, I do feel that everything was revolved around the certain audience being directed and how they would see and take in these texts. After seeing the other presentations, (and I am sure a lot of other groups are thinking this now as well), I wish we would have come up with something other than a basic flyer or social media site ad. Although I think they were beneficial, so many other groups did this and I think that I we thought of something that was very different from all of the others, we would’ve stood out a lot more therefore bringing more attention to our business.
