Takeaways

The first big takeaway I have from this assignment is that everything that is created joins an ongoing conversation of already existing texts. This is Lunsford approach, but I also see it relate to Selber & Johnson Eilola since they believe nothing is original and all the texts we create are based on something we have seen or experienced in the past.

Another takeaway I have from this assignment would be Bitzer’s idea of exigence. Ever since the first class when we read Bitzer my idea of composing changed because of exigence. I believe it has a big impact on how we create and compose.

The question I still have after reading these texts would relate to the idea of the audience and the author. I still wonder does the way the audience views a work outweigh what the author originally intended?
