Journal 8

I learned that there are several methods of composing. I found that most methods of composing throughout the groups were centered around the targeted audience -- which is actually my theory of composition. To achieve the desired form of text, one must center their composition method around the expected or common relations of the targeted audience. The key term audience, I found, was placed on a pedestal for all projects -- including my own. In order to capture a consistent circulation, establish an efficient network, and effectively display the genre you must grab the attention of your targeted audience and you can only accomplish this by composing your text centered around the needs of your audience. The teams used various processes depending on the type of the organization they were representing. Many teams used videos and newsletters. One of my favorite artifacts used was the designing of a t-shirt. I thought that was a very creative and effective way to introduce the promotion of an organization and allow for consistent form of circulation. I noticed some groups were constrained mainly by time -- I think maybe it would be better to introduce this project as project one instead of three so that way groups have much more time to execute this effectively and with enough time to complete the project to the best of their ability until the end of the campaign. Another constraint seemed to be having trouble communicating with their organizations. I feel as though maybe this project may not be as beneficial to some just because this doesn’t provide the best experience. Despite these common constraints they used their best efforts and materials, such as social media, to circulate their campaigns. I think my team would have done even more texts to ensure even more participants in the BSU elections. We overall just wish we had more time to circulate more texts and allow more time for the texts to circulate themselves.
