Journal #7

The terms writing, editing, and composing carries much more significance before entering this class. Before, I didn't think too much in debt about either of those terms. I didn't realize the importance that it has on our lives and how we communicate with each other on a daily basis. These terms define us in a way. Writing, editing and composing are considered mental skills that we possess. We can freely use each of them in our ways giving us a sense of who we really are. It's expressive and  non-judgmental. Some key terms that comes to mind when I think of those terms are things like audience, context, exigence etc. It is always better to know how to grasp your audience and attention as well as who they are. Understand why you are writing, and express that to your audience, it's important that they see what you see. Share your vision. Whether it be fiction or non-fiction writing. These terms are in relation to composing because they are essential to writing.

My experiences with project two gas helped acknowledge the many ways in which we use mediums in media to express a simple idea or thought. In addition, it allowed to me understand how each thing functions alongside each other, whether it may be a book, a film, a photo, or song. Moreover, I understand how assemblages are made and the different approaches that they can represent. Outside of the course, I believe I have a better understanding of the terms writing, editing and composing. I understand how to think with these terms in ways I didn't know before. My thinking has broaden and I have different ways in which I can incorporate them into my future. One change I can say that I've made would be knowing who my audience is and how to target them specifically. I relate this to the campaign proposal that we did in class and as well as Project 3. These assignments has allowed me to focus on a specific task and understand ways to persuade them and get others informed into the assignment at hand. I do feel that is it important to understand what your audience wants as people and try to give them that. This can includes behavior such as knowing there concerns, and thinking of refreshing ways to solve and/or meet there needs.
