journal 7

I would define the term writing as creating words, through either a manual pen/pencil/marker to paper method, or using technology like a computer. Editing would encompass not only changing and rearranging words, but also changing bigger things like concepts, and modes of presenting composition. Composing itself would be, in my opinion, anything that is created, whether it be physical papers, movies, comics, products, but also ideas, arrangements, and styles.

Some key terms that I would say are necessary for defining writing, editing, and composing, would be knowledge, vision, experience, environment, context, purpose, to name a few. These terms make you think about the bigger picture that your composition is going to be entering in, rather than just the composing process on its own.

My experiences with project two have allowed me to step back and look critically at the composing process in a different light or mindset, and see it in a different way than I ever had before.

My experiences with writing, editing, and composing outside of WEPO have allowed me to see them as necessary and even fun processes. I really enjoy all three of them, and I like to see how others approach them.

My theory of composing has definitely expanded, from thinking of it as a simple linear process, I can now see that it can take on many forms that aren't as straightforward as I had first believed when coming into this class. Being exposed to many ideas and ways of looking at composing and thinking about these ways, it's allowed me to expand my horizons on composing.
