1) Lunsford says that all rhetoric is part of an ongoing conversation. This is something that we have been able to apply in class and in our projects on how to persuade our reader to agree with us.
2) Rose talks about how audiences bring their own background knowledge when listening to a new argument they put their own ideas and thoughts into that argument to make their own conclusion about it. In class we have learned that having background information influences a persons idea about an argument and the piece we read by Rose helped me to understand why.
Question:
I am still having trouble defining genre and applying it. So my question is, what is genre? Rather than music, text, etc.
