In the past, peer review has always been very helpful in bettering myself and my work. I always appreciated the critiques and then was able to make the necessary changes to correct the problems. Negative feedback is almost always more helpful than positive feedback. I like to know what to correct, not just what someone likes about my project. While I do believe that critiquing is vital to the reviewing process, I find it discouraging when the person doing the review is either very rude or states the issues in a demeaning way. I like to have someone who can give constructive criticism, not tear down your whole project.
